The Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art recognise and promote excellence in senior visual art education throughout Queensland state and non-state schools.
Since 1990, the program has helped raise community awareness of the degree of sophistication in concepts, diversity of technical competence, and the high standard of visual art education in Queensland secondary schools.

The 2024 excellence winning works are on display at the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) from Saturday 31 May to Sunday 31 August 2025.

Creative Generation Visual Art In Residence
In Residence provides Year 10 Queensland visual art students with the opportunity to strengthen their understanding of the academic, experimental, collaborative and reflective nature of contemporary visual art and gain an appreciation for the breadth of opportunities in the creative industries.
In 2025 the 3-day residency in Brisbane will be held from Tuesday 25 - Thursday 27 November. Nominations for the next In Residence program will open in July 2025.
