The Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art recognise and promote excellence in senior visual art education throughout Queensland state and non-state schools.
Since 1990, the program has helped raise community awareness of the degree of sophistication in concepts, diversity of technical competence, and the high standard of visual art education in Queensland secondary schools.
Submissions for the 2021 program are now open and close Monday 30 August 2021. Information on how to submit is available on the

The 2021
central exhibition, celebrating the 2020 excellence award winners, runs from 24 April to 8 August 2021 at the Gallery of Modern Art.

In residence provides Year 10 Queensland visual art students with the opportunity to strengthen their understanding of the academic, experimental, collaborative and reflective nature of contemporary visual art and gain an appreciation for the breadth of opportunities in the creative industries.
In residence 2021 will be held 30 November to 2 December 2021 in Brisbane.
